Who is the academy aimed at?
The academy is aimed at youngsters between the ages of 12 to 17 both boys and girls. They are from all walks of life. There is also the opportunity to help disabled people into motor sport jobs.
The academy offer the opportunity for youngsters to come and see what motor sport is all about. Our aim is to show the children all the different aspects of motor sport so that they can come and touch, feel and enjoy what's on offer. The children have opportunities to work with:
They also get the chance to experience the thrills of sitting with an experienced rally driver and learning how to make pace notes.
A part of the course ensures the children are aware of the dangers of misuse of a motor vehicle. This provides them with a fundamental knowledge of what can go wrong in a motor vehicle but more importantly how to correct it and to overcome the danger. All before they are allowed on to the open road.
We have the backing of the local and metropolitan police who are assisting in making the kids aware of the dangers of driving outside of a controlled enviornment.
