Rally Academy Advanced Course
This is held over a period of 6 sessions each session being 2 hours on a week day evening or
3 full sessions of 5 hours to be held at weekends with a maximum of 8 students.
Evening sessions
7.30 to 9.30
Session 1 - Workshop tour accompanied by videos of rallying through the ages.
Session 2 - Health and safety in the workshop and in the rallying environment. The safety equipment used by the drivers and co-drivers.
Session3 - Practical evening, demonstrations of welding, pipe bending, electrical components and mechnical components.
Session 4 - Navigational evening, all aspects of navigation covered.
Session 5 - Students get to make pace notes in a race car .
Session 6 - Driving talk on all the aspects of driving and car control.
Weekend sessions
Weekend 1 - The students learn how to set up the service area. How to preprae the car in service. How the timing works and all aspects of health and safety in the service area.
Weekend 2 - The students get their first opportunities to drive, learning car control in a controlled enviornment.
Weekend 3 - Students get the chance to read their pace notes in a rally car on a stage. Also students who have proven themselves to be competent behind the wheel will get the chance to drive a rally car round the stage.
