WOODBRIDGE STAGES – 13th OCTOBER 2007
Two Delado members entered the first running of the Woodbridge Stages on Saturday 13th October 2007. This single venue tarmac stage rally was organised by Chelmsford Motor Club and was based on the old Ministry of Defence land in Suffolk.
Jim Hedgcock was out in his Mark 1 Escort, the first time he had tried the car in anger on tarmac. With the experienced Nigel Gurton co-driving Jim was understandably apprehensive before the start but after the first stage was settling down and enjoying drifting the Escort round the stages. Jim finished 24th overall and 10th in class. Jim had a great day and is now hooked.
Colin Smith was out in his Rover with his usual co-driver Ray Keith beside him. They also had a very good event enjoying themselves on every stage and finishing the rally 36th overall and 1st in the Endurance rally class. An excellent result against some much more powerful cars.
Both drivers were very complimentary about the event and this may be an event to consider for more of us next year.
Well done both of you.

Club Chairman.
